Temporary protection covering materials
The fire spread potential of any temporary protective material must be carefully considered.
Vulnerable features should be installed late or use temporary products like reusable fire doors.
Flexible protective coverings must meet LPCB LPS 1207 or TS 63 standards for fire performance, with approval marks printed on the material.
Scaffold sheeting must be flame retardant, meeting LPS 1215 or TS 62 standards, and livery printing must not compromise fire performance.
Scaffold stair towers or escape ladders should not be enclosed with sheeting to minimise smoke in escape routes and aid fire and rescue access.
At least one fire escape stairway should be free of protective coverings.
Marketing banners must comply with DIN 4102B1 standards, and their fire performance must be verified despite livery printing.
