Testing and maintenance

Fire alarms must be tested weekly by a nominated person, with any faults identified and addressed promptly.

Emergency lighting must undergo an annual test by a competent person and a monthly test by a nominated person. All tests and any defects must be documented.

Fire extinguishers require regular maintenance, including an annual check by a specialist engineer and a weekly check by a nominated person.
