Where materials cannot be substituted for smaller or lighter versions at design stage, use automated mechanical aids, e.g. vacuum devices or mechanical grabs

Position materials close to work area using mechanical means, e.g. delivery lorry or telehandler
If automated mechanical aids cannot be used, use maintained handling aids, e.g. wheelbarrow, trolley, etc.

Ensure workers are trained to use lifting equipment and handling aids safely
