Mud on roads

Do everything possible to prevent mud being deposited on roads.

Employ suitable, environmentally friendly wheel wash systems.

Where not reasonably practicable, road sweepers should be used. The frequency of sweeps will be determined by the site conditions which need to be regularly monitored.

Clean the road promptly following mud transfer and always at the end of the working day.

Position ‘Caution Mud On Road’ signs to give maximum visibility and warning to road users.
