PAVES - Vehicles
Vehicle routes must be wide enough for the safe movement of the largest vehicles expected and kept clear of obstructions.
Physical barriers must be provided where temporary obstructions occur, clearly marked, and signposted.
Vehicle route surfaces must be firm, even, and properly maintained, with robust edge protection and clear signage where necessary. Ensure routes are adequately drained, avoiding steep slopes, sharp corners, and blind bends.
Any temporary haul roads must have a temporary works design approved by our design checker.
Ensure drivers can see both ways along the footway before moving onto it, adjusting vehicle entrances as necessary.
Consider one-way routes, controlled turning points, and selecting appropriately sized vehicles.
Delivery timing must avoid conflicts with neighbouring activities and adhere to planning conditions, with holding areas provided if necessary.
Vehicle entry should be restricted unless authorised by management, with parking provided away from work areas whenever possible.
Standard road signs and agreed speed limits must be consistently applied and adhered to.
